Our Story

Evolving a Beloved Tradition

Dakshin Cuisine is a modern South Indian restaurant at 3512 Connecticut Ave NW in Cleveland Park, Washington, DC. For over 20 years this home was Indique, a beloved neighborhood institution. It has evolved into Dakshin, a celebration of Southern India's culinary heritage.

At Dakshin, we honor the rich traditions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana while embracing modern culinary innovation. Every dish tells a story of spice routes, coastal kitchens, and generations of flavor.

Our commitment remains the same: to bring our community together over food that is bold, vibrant, and made with heart.
